Genesis School is recognized by the
Ecuadorian Ministery of Education (Agreement # 139-D
P-DECM). In 1997 Escuela Genesis began as an elementary
school with just a kindergarden. Each year since then
it has grown to it's present size with grades one thru
seven. The mission of the school is to offer an alternative
education to our youth that focuses on values and creativity.
We accomplish this non-traditional education through
various activities and classes including art, the environment,
computers, English, Italian, theater, dance, cheerleading,
sports, etc. In addition, Genesis School ensures that
each child is given ample attention by setting a maximum
of 10 children per class.

Part of the alternative education at
Escuela Genesis has been possible through a volunteer
program that began in 1999. Volunteers have come to
the Escuela Genesis from all over the world including
New Zealand, Germany, Italy, Australia, Switzerland,
Great Britain, South Africa, Canada and the United States
in order to teach foreign languages. In addition to
teaching at Escuela Genesis, we have helped many volunteers
to give classes in other local schools. The Volunteer
Program has also provided to students of three other
local schools with scholarships to study in Genesis
School (free education, transportation, uniforms, books
and materials.) We are very proud of the scholarship
program because giving a chance to less fortunate children
is important to us. We hope that the number will increase
each year and we plan to eventually become a foundation.
Due to the many volunteers who participate
in our Volunteer Program that desire to formally learn
Spanish, we have decided to form Genesis Spanish School.
Genesis Spanish School shares the mission of Escuela
Genesis and the Volunteer Program. We provide a non-traditional
education through creative learning activities, sharing,
and integration into the community. We believe our programs
are beneficial for all involved and we hope that you
will join us in our mission towards a better global
society!
